Myth: Improv is about being funny.
Nope, improv is about showing up with openness and curiosity and putting your energy into being part of a team that works well together. A side effect of that process is genuine surprise and laughter.
"I came to respect everybody's creativity and contribution, appreciate the value of listening and observing, and value how well-designed exercises could bring out the collective best in a group. "

Benefits of Improv
"The most fun I've had in a long time."
In this 12-session series you will work closely with a small group of performers and improv coach, Fred Brown, to learn how to create a longform improv performance. The series will begin by working on what's essential to any good improv: character, relationship, emotion, and environment. Then you will advance to the essential building blocks of good long-form improv: second beats, callbacks, tag-outs, and group games. In the final weeks we will pull all the pieces together and create a show in an evening of performance at The Cherry theater.
